Rangers boss Murty is said to want O’Neill at Ibrox next season.
Fans of Brandon O’Neill’s current employers are reacting on Twitter after the midfielder was linked with a move to Graeme Murty’s Glasgow Rangers.
The Canberra Times reported on Friday that Rangers are monitoring O’Neill’s progress at Sydney FC, with a view to bringing him to Ibrox next season.
It’s fair to say the Australian club’s supporters would be loathe to lose the 23-year-old, who has registered two goals and one assist in 20 A-League appearances this season, while several fans have outlined various reasons why he won’t be moving to Rangers.

Who is O’Neill?
O’Neill is a 5ft 10ins tough-tackling defensive midfielder with six goals and two assists in his 77 Sydney appearances since signing from Perth Glory in 2015 – in which time he has won the A-League Premiership and Championship, as well as the FFA Cup.
Though born and raised in Perth, Australia, the 23-year-old has Irish parents – as well as an Irish passport – and is eligible to play for both nations, having never appeared for Australia above Under-23 level.
And as the Canberra Times points out, however, this could put O’Neill at odds with some sections of Rangers’ pro-union fanbase.
According to the Scottish Sun Rangers could land O’Neill on a cut-price deal, with his contract due to expire at the end of December.
However, there is no mention of the terms of his deal in the Canberra Times report, while Transfermarkt states that it ends in June 2019 – after the next A-League season.
