Tim Sherwood has cast his doubts over Liverpool forward Darwin Nunez and how he is ‘not sure’ about the summer signing from Benfica.

The former Premier League manager spoke about the issues in Darwin Nunez’s game, from ‘losing his balance’ to ‘falling over’ when he shoots, which he showcased during Liverpool’s 1-0 win over Brentford.

The 23-year-old started his side’s narrow win over the Bees – he lasted just over an hour before Jurgen Klopp took him off the pitch – Robbie Fowler also had some strong words to say about the player.

Over the course of the season, he has nine Premier League goals to his name and he has had many up and down moments.

But in what is Nunez’s first full season in English football, Sherwood thinks there are issues, as he told Premier League Productions (06/05/23 at 6:25 pm).

“He’s had some great chances,” said Sherwood. “The movement was fine. He just seems to rush it and he loses his balance at times.

“I am really not sure about him. He must close his eyes to miss that one. He’s offside here but he doesn’t know that.

“He always looks like when that through ball goes through that he is never in control of his body. He seems to fall over a lot when he strikes the ball.”

KLOPP SHOULD BE TRUSTED

During the German’s time in the Premier League, he has got many things right in the transfer market.

From the big money they paid for Virgil van Dijk to the signing of Andy Robertson from Hull City.

Only very few haven’t worked out, and even fewer of them are forwards, so Klopp should be trusted to get the best out of his newest £140k-a-week star (Spotrac).
