Speaking on the Tottenham Fan Chris Cowlin YouTube channel, Fabrizio Romano has been discussing Yannick Carrasco and Tottenham Hotspur.

There have been some tentative links between Carrasco and Spurs in recent days, and now, Romano has gone on the record to state that Fabio Paratici is indeed an admirer of the winger, stating that he’s wanted him for years.

Unfortunately for Spurs, Romano hasn’t heard anything about an official bid, but given Paratici’s scattergun approach to the transfer market, Romano says he wouldn’t be surprised to see the winger emerge as a target.

What’s been said?

Romano spoke about Carrasco.

“He’s always been a player on the list of Fabio Paratici, at one point he was close to joining Juventus a few years ago. He’s a player that could be kind of a perfect player for Antonio Conte. I am told that Atletico Madrid have not received any official bid from Tottenham, but I’m not surprised to see these rumours, because as I said before, many players and many rumours is Paratici’s strategy. It won’t be an easy negotiation, but I’m not surprised to see Tottenham in the list because Paratici has always been a big fan,” Romano said.

Don’t need him

As talented a player as Carrasco is, it’s hard to make a case for Tottenham needing the 28-year-old right now.

The north London outfit have an abundance of wingers on their books, from Heung-Min Son to Bryan Gil, and there are other positions that need addressing before Carrasco is targeted.

Would this be a good signing? Of course it would. After all, the Belgian has been a key player for Atletico Madrid for years, but at this moment in time, it would be a luxury signing, and Spurs aren’t in a position to make signings like that just yet.
