Tottenham Hotspur are expected to be very busy on transfer deadline day, and Wolfsburg striker Wout Weghorst has been linked this summer.
Harry Kane is staying at Tottenham this season, and that means Tottenham are having to adjust their striking targets ahead of the deadline.
It won’t be a Lautaro Martinez or Dusan Vlahovic coming in, as they seemed more like big-money targets to bring in if Kane did leave.
Now Kane is staying, Fabio Paratici may have to look for other strikers to come in for cheaper price tags in the final hours of the window.
The Express reported last month that Weghorst is one option for Tottenham, with Steve Hitchen believed to be a fan of the striker.
What’s interesting now is that Fabrizio Romano has told Last Word on Spurs that director of football Paratici actually has a good relationship with Weghorst’s agency.
Stars and Friends are the agency who represent Weghorst, and Paratici has great links to them, which may be why Weghorst is being linked according to Romano.
Romano claims no bid has been made for Weghorst, but did suggest that Paratici will be looking at all opportunities before the deadline.

“Fabio Paratici has a good relationship with his agent, so this is why maybe we have some links, because he is one of the players in the air for Tottenham,” said Romano. “But as of now, Wolfsburg have not received an official bid from Tottenham, or an approach,” he added.
Weghorst, 29, is a towering target man with world class ability in the air, and he smashed 25 goals as well as nine assists for Wolfsburg last season.
The Dutchman then played at Euro 2020, scoring in the Netherlands’ opening game against Ukraine.
A real handful off the bench if that’s how Tottenham choose to use him, Weghorst could bring something different to the Tottenham attack, but doesn’t have tons of resale value for the future.
