Speaking on the Here We Go Podcast, Fabrizio Romano has delivered an update on Kieran Tierney’s future at Arsenal and his links to Napoli.

The left-back has recently been linked with a move to Napoli, and while, Romano claims that the Scotland international is still appreciated by the higher-ups in Naples, it seems as though a deal isn’t on the cards right now.

Indeed, with the Serie A outfit going through a period of transition, they’ve not made concrete plans to move for him this summer, while their chances of landing him would seem to be slim in any case, as Arsenal reportedly want to keep him.

“To be honest, Arsenal are so happy with Tierney, so they want to keep this player,” Romano said.

“There were a lot of rumours in January about him joining Napoli in a shock move, nothing, nothing. Arsenal are so happy with him, Napoli are not planning for Tierney, he is appreciated yes, he’s one of the favourites of the Sporting Director Cristiano Giuntuli, but Napoli are going to rebuild with a new manager next summer.”

This is reassuring to hear if you’re an Arsenal fan.

Napoli are seemingly very keen on Tierney, and their Sporting Director is a big fan, but with Arsenal wanting to keep him and the new manager still yet to be decided, it seems as though that move won’t be on the cards this summer.

However, with Giuntuli being a big fan of the defender, this may be a move that Napoli look at further down the line.
