Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Marco Verratti looks set to become the next high-profile player to make the move to the Saudi Pro League as it has emerged that a deal to take the Italian midfielder to Saudi Arabia is close to being completed.

The midfielder, who was once described as superb by Neymar back in 2017, is set to make the move to the Middle East.

That’s according to an exclusive from Fabrizio Romano, who claims that the deal is at an ‘advanced stage’ between the two clubs and a three-year deal for the midfielder has been agreed. The deal is set to be completed once the final details are complete.

Verratti made the move to PSG from Pescara back in 2012 and has been a crucial part of the French club’s midfield for the best part of 12 years. The midfielder has consistently been linked with a move to Barcelona, but it seems the Italian is set to make the move to the Middle East.

£25 million will be enough

If all goes well then you can expect the famous ‘here we go’ from Fabrizio Romano, but we haven’t reached that stage yet. Romano claims that PSG are demanding around £25 million before they allow the 30-year-old to leave the Parc Des Princes.

It’s been a strange career for the Italian midfielder, despite there being no question about the ability he possesses with the ball at his feet, there was always a question mark whether he would do enough on the big stage.

Well, it seems his time in Paris is coming to an end with a move to the Saudi Pro League seemingly on the verge of being agreed. Verratti may well have been wondering if he was going to be playing alongside Kylian Mbappe at Al-Hilali but a tweet from Romano yesterday stated the forward had turned down their approach.

Nevertheless, the Saudi side would be getting another superb midfielder. Having already signed Ruben Neves from Wolves and Sergej Milinkovic Savic from Lazio, Verratti may well be the cherry on top of the cake this summer.
