Fabio Paratici has told Tottenham Hotspur’s website that a move to sign Arnaut Danjuma permanently in the summer is down to the new signing’s form over the next five months – with Spurs boasting a £27million clause in his loan deal.
Danjuma, who turned 26 on deadline day, has joined the club until the end of the season from La Liga side Villarreal. Spurs hijacked a move to Everton at the last minute, luring the Netherlands star to London on a loan-to-buy deal.
The ex-Bournemouth star has hit the ground running. Coming off the bench against Preston in the FA Cup, he scored with a neat finish in a 3-0 win – after Son Heung-min scored twice. He is one of three signings Spurs made in January.
Paratici also commented on Pedro Porro, who joined the club in the final 10 minutes of the window. Spurs also raided Chelsea for young striker Jude Soonsup-Bell. He was asked what the chances are of a permanent deal for Danjuma.

“We have the option to buy and so we will see what happens in the next five months,” Paratici told Tottenham’s official website, with The Times reporting that Spurs have an option to land the forward for a fee of £27million this summer.

He has made a superb start. But Danjuma is up against it to convince Antonio Conte, Paratici and the Tottenham board that they should strike the clause they included his loan. He is clearly a top player with plenty of pedigree in attack.
The Dutch star can come off the bench to score goals. He might be happy being back-up to Harry Kane, while also being able to play on the flanks or even as a 10. Cristian Stellini says Spurs see him as a striker, or in the no.10 role.
But it remains to be seen if he will get the required game time to be able to show he deserves a £27m move. As things stand, that is up in the air. Spurs have had back-up strikers in the past and it has not worked.
