Fabio Paratici already has his next transfer goal in mind for once Tottenham Hotspur have finalised the signing of Destiny Udogie off Udinese and loaned him back to the Serie A side.

Tottenham to target centre-backs once Destiny Udogie is signed from Udinese

According to football.london, Fabio Paratici will turn his efforts toward Tottenham Hotspur signing a new centre-back once the north London club have finalised the signing of Destiny Udogie from Udinese, and sent the Italy U21 international back to the Dacia Arena on loan.

Antonio Conte is eager for the Spurs manging director to strengthen his central defensive options in the final weeks of the window. The Italian’s determination to add bodies to his backline will also increase if Japhet Tanganga follows Joe Rodon in securing a move away.

Rodon departed the Premier League side for Ligue 1 outfit Stade Rennais at the start of the month. The Wales defender has agreed to leave Tottenham on a season-long loan that has an option to make his arrival permanent at the end of the 2022/23 term for €20m (£17m).

Tanganga has several suitors in Serie A as future seems to be away from Spurs

Tanganga, meanwhile, remains in north London, but his future appears to be away from Tottenham. Conte left the centre-half out of his matchday squad as Spurs saw in the new Premier League season through securing a 4-1 win at home to Southampton last weekend.

Several Serie A sides are also interested in Tanganga moving to Italy before the sales slam shut on September 1. Calciomercato now cite Jose Mourinho with an interest in his former Spurs defender joining him at Roma, after the Stadio Olimpico natives started initial talks.

Inter Milan also contacted Tottenham to discuss Tanganga’s situation earlier on in August, per Corriere della Serra. The Nerazzurri are exploring rivalling their San Siro neighbours AC Milan for the 23-year-old, as the Rossoneri were previously his priority, per Calciomercato.

Signing a potential replacement for Tanganga will soon become Paratici’s priority, once the Tottenham chief has finalised terms with Udinese for Udogie. Fabrizio Romano reports the 19-year-old left-back will cost Spurs upwards of €20m (£17m) and was a target of Paratici.
