Fabian Ruiz is now open to a move to Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal after turning down Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United in the January transfer window, according to Corriere dello Sport.
The report in the Italian news outlet has claimed that Newcastle made an offer of just under €50 million (£41.85 million) for the Spain international midfielder.
Ruiz was not interested in a transfer to Newcastle.
Arsenal also wanted to sign the former Real Betis star in the January transfer window, according to the report, which has added that he is now open to a move to the North London club the summer of 2022.
Fabian Ruiz would make Arsenal better
In our view, Ruiz would be a good signing for Arsenal and would make Mikel Arteta’s side better and stronger in the middle of the park.
The Spain international is only 25, and, in our view, he is at the right age to take the next step in his career.

Arsenal could end up in the top four of the Premier League table this season, and that would enhance the appeal of the Gunners to Ruiz.
The Napoli star has made 21 starts and two substitute appearances in Serie A so far this season.
Ruiz has scored six goals and provided three assists in those games.
The midfielder has also given one assist in five Europa League matches this season.
