Tottenham Hotspur’s focus will be on the Europa League tonight, as they host Dinamo Zagreb in the second leg of their last 16 clash.

Spurs are 2-0 up from the first leg, so shouldn’t have too many issues in advancing to the last eight ahead of a huge game this weekend.

Tottenham can’t take their eye off the ball tonight, but they do have a massive game coming up on Sunday as they travel to take on Aston Villa.

This is a key game for Tottenham’s top four hopes, as defeat could kill them off once and for all – and one Spurs target could play a key role in the game.

The Athletic reported last month that Tottenham fancy signing Aston Villa defender Ezri Konsa this summer, though they face competition from Liverpool.

Konsa has been outstanding this season, arguably even better than Tyrone Mings and subsequently should be in the running for an England call-up.

Back in his time at Charlton, Konsa admitted that he is a Tottenham fan and a move to Spurs would be a ‘dream’ for him, so Sunday’s game could be something of an audition.

He hasn’t yet faced Tottenham this season, and Spurs would no doubt love to see how he fares against Harry Kane and co as part of their evaluation on him.

The 23-year-old has impressed against many Premier League attackers, but keeping Kane quiet could just leave Spurs in no doubt that he is the right man for them.

Konsa won’t come cheap, but he can really convince Spurs with a strong display this weekend – and possibly move a step closer to that dream move after all, even if Villa fans would be understandably gutted to see him go.
