Dele Alli told to ‘look in the mirror’ as Everton ace is ‘out of love’ with football
Don Hutchinson has told BBC Radio 5 Live that Everton midfielder Dele Alli should ‘look in the mirror’, as he cannot blame his coaches at Tottenham Hotspur or at Goodison Park for his demise. The former Liverpool man also questions if Alli’s love for the game is still there.

Everton only signed Alli from Tottenham during January, but are in talks with Besiktas over a deal to offload the 26-year-old. The Telegraph report Frank Lampard is willing to permit a permanent sale, with the Istanbul outfit keen on a loan or ready to pay €8-10m (£7-8.5m).

Alli is open to a move to Turkey, as the three parties continue negotiations over the nature of the deal. He is eager to leave Goodison to play regularly. Any loan deal would include an option for Besiktas to buy the 37-cap England international at the end of the 22/23 season.
Everton would owe Tottenham 25% of any fee that Besiktas pay to sign Alli if they opt for a permanent transfer, per Sky Sports. The Toffees agreed to give Spurs a sell-on clause in the deal, worth up to £40m, for him to move to Goodison in January without any upfront fees.
The Blues will also owe Spurs £10m after the midfielder plays 20 games for the Merseyside outfit. He has seldom played at Goodison Park so far, with Lampard rarely prepared to put the Milton Keynes product on the pitch after lacking any output over his showings thus far.

Alli’s Tottenham career hit reverse at full speed before Goodison disaster
Alli’s career hit reverse at full speed at Tottenham before signing for Everton, just months before his potential transfer to Besiktas. He came out of the blocks on fire under Mauricio Pochettino in the league with 10 goals and nine assists in 15/16 and 18 and nine in 16/17.
The playmaker then penned his most assists in a top-flight campaign under the Argentine in 17/18 with 11 – plus nine goals. But he would only offer eight more assists and 14 goals across his next 75 games over three-and-a-half seasons, including one apiece in his last 28.
Now, Everton could let Besiktas sign Alli, permanently or on loan, with his Goodison career a total disaster. And Hutchinson feels he has no one to blame but himself for his demise.
“I look at Dele Alli, and you can’t pin it on Mauricio Pochettino, Jose Mourinho, Nuno Espirito Santo or Frank Lampard,” he said. “At some point you have to look in the mirror.
“He’s 26 and there’s a chance he could come back. But I watch him and he looks as though he has fallen out of love with football. That flicker has just gone.”
