Everton could earn as much as €10m (£8.5m) for Dele Alli should the Toffees reach an agreement with Turkish giants to sell the England midfielder this week.
According to the Telegraph, the 26-year-old midfielder is to decide in the coming days if he wants to sign for Besiktas on loan or on a permanent deal, with the latter potentially seeing Everton £8.5m for a player the Toffees reportedly signed for free in the January transfer window.
As per the Guardian, Alli signed for Everton from Tottenham with Spurs expecting to bank as much as £30m if performance incentives were met, however, with the England international only ever playing 367 minutes of football for the Merseyside giants, the north London side are now set to not earn a single penny from their former superstar.
Alli’s move to Everton was meant to reinvent the midfielder under Frank Lampard, however, the player and English manager have seemingly agreed that a break away from the Premier League could be best for the 26-year-old’s career, with the former MK Dons star a shadow of his former self.
Indeed, it’s easy to forget that Alli was once one of England’s best players at both an international level as well as in the Premier League, but injuries and a falling out at Tottenham has seen the versatile attacking midfielder’s career take a turn for the worse with seemingly no way back.
However, whilst Alli’s Everton career was as forgettable as it was a blur, a move to Turkey could be a great move for the former Three Lions superstar, and the Premier League managing to sell the midfielder for a potentially good fee is some outstanding business on the club’s part.
Everton managing to sell Everton for profit is a miracle

The financial state of football has never been messier, with top clubs still splashing cash like there’s no tomorrow with everyone else only now starting to recover in a post-Covid-19 economy, and for Everton to sell a player like Alli for a potential fee of £8.5m is quite miraculous, to say the least.
After all, Everton have hardly been the most effective club in recent years at selling players, yet offloading Alli to Besiktas with the Turkish side splashing some good cash on the midfielder is some serious business from the Toffees, and for the player himself, a move to Istanbul could work wonders on his career.
