- EXCLUSIVE from Graeme Bailey
Chelsea have already held talks over a potential deal for Victor Osimhen, but they are now facing competition from Paris Saint-Germain, HITC understands.
Sources have told HITC that Chelsea are keen on signing Victor Osimhen from Napoli in the summer transfer window.
Chelsea want to sign Napoli striker Victor Osimhen
Chelsea want a new number 9, and HITC understands that Osimhen is very much their first choice. The former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners have held talks about finalising a deal before the summer.
However, Paris Saint-Germain have now emerged as a major threat to Chelsea in their quest to secure the services of the 25-year-old Nigeria international striker, who is “incredibly quick” and is “brilliant in the air”, according to former Tottenham Hotspur striker Gary Lineker.
PSG now a major threat to Chelsea
HITC understands that PSG are ready to compete with Chelsea for Osimhen in the summer transfer window as they look to reinvest in their forward line.
PSG are ready to invest heavily with Kylian Mbappe ready to leave the club at the end of the season. The defending Ligue 1 champions also wanted to move on Goncalo Ramos.

HITC understands that PSG are ready to turn to Osimhen – not as a direct replacement for Mbappe, but more due to the failure of Portuguese striker Ramos.
Ramos arrived in the summer of 2023 on an initial loan from Benfica but the deal was for a mandatory purchase worth €80 million (£68.42 million) which they exercised in November.
However, Ramos has failed to live up to expectations in the French capital with just four goals to his name so far this season.
HITC understands that PSG could even try and use Ramos in a potential deal for Osimhen as Napoli previously showed an interest in the former Benfica man.
PSG are looking to spend big and, as HITC revealed earlier this week, they are also very keen on Rafael Leao.
Indeed, they could compete with Chelsea on more than one front as the Blues are also in the market for Leao as well as Osimhen.
