Arne Slot is now preparing to write his name into Liverpool’s legendary books.

In years gone by, every time a new manager walked into the doors of Anfield, they would have this dark cloud over their heads that Liverpool hadn’t won the title in so long.

But Jurgen Klopp lifted that cloud and helped the Reds win their first title in three decades and now everyone can breathe a little easy.

Yes, that same pressure is still there for Liverpool to be champions of England again, especially as they narrowly missed out last season, but Klopp has now set a platform for managers to come.

One thing Klopp did superbly well during his tenure was bringing in the right players and turning talent below the elite level into gems.

No Upcoming Fixtures

But he never signed anyone who you would deem controversial. That’s something that could be on the cards for Slot.

HITC exclusively revealed that Liverpool have made an enquiry over the availability of Newcastle United winger, Anthony Gordon.

Nothing has happened yet, but Tony Cascarino was reacting to those rumours and how Gordon’s head could have been turned amid this Liverpool interest, as he told talkSPORT.

The former striker labelled it ‘exciting times’, but still questioned where the ex-Everton player would play unless there is a ‘big offer’ for one of their current stars.

Liverpool and Anthony Gordon

“I am not sure Salah will stay, but then that has been a story for the last two years,” said Cascarino.

“Diaz, I think, is terrific for Liverpool on the left, which he plays in Anthony Gordon’s position. You have got Jota who can play there. Liverpool have got luxury in the forward areas and especially the type of speedy wingers that run behind.

“Unless they have had a big offer for Luis Diaz. If they had that offer and they go ‘we can try to get Gordon in as a replacement’, but yeah, exciting times, isn’t it?”

Liverpool’s forward line

You could argue that this is the last place Liverpool would look to enhance because there is depth in quality throughout.

But a new manager always wants to add his own touches to things and perhaps he wants to bring in more competition.

What’s interesting is that there are noises about Luis Diaz’s future, which HITC has revealed throughout this summer.

Then there is the never-ending Saudi Arabia interest in Mohamed Salah, who is now preparing for the new season with Liverpool and their return to the Champions League.
