One teenage sensation at Euro 2024 is ‘a star in the making’ amid interest from Arne Slot’s Liverpool this summer.

Arne Slot has taken the reins at Liverpool after Jurgen Klopp stepped down from his role as manager of the Reds at the end of the 2023/24 season.

Transfer business has been quiet so far at Anfield with no new incomings confirmed. The only concrete link at this moment in time is LOSC Lille centre-back Leny Yoro.

HITC has reported that Liverpool were indeed working hard to try and complete the signing of the talented teenager but there was an acceptance from those at Anfield that the 18-year-old was more likely to join Champions League winners Real Madrid this summer.

Liverpool told what makes target a ‘superstar’

With the Reds trying to battle Madrid for the signing of Yoro, HITC reported that they are also keen on one of Los Blancos’ star players.

It is our understanding that Liverpool made contact with Madrid for Turkish midfielder Arda Guler this summer, as well as Brazilian winger Rodrygo due to the imminent arrivals of Kylian Mbappe and Brazilian star Endrick.

Guler’s game time at the Santiago Bernabeu could become a topic of conversation and sources told HITC that Madrid have been inundated with offers for the teenager, who has shone for Turkey at Euro 2024.

In an article for The Athletic, Koray Palaz, coach of Turkish lower division team Kusadasispor, commented on what makes Guler different.

“It’s still very early to suggest he will be a Messi or Ronaldo — Arda is still a boy — but he is a superstar in the making,” Palaz said.

“There’s something special about the way Arda touches the ball, sees the game, sees the whole picture. He’s different from others. Whenever he gets the ball, you just know he will do something.”

Madrid set to wait before making Guler decision

HITC reported that Florentino Perez, Madrid’s president, would not countenance a sale of the Turkish international, but a loan deal would be possible.

As Madrid rested players ahead of the Champions League final at Wembley Stadium, Guler was given a chance in La Liga and looked impressive.

Carlo Ancelotti is keen to look at Guler during pre-season before making a decision but if he did end up at Anfield this summer, this would be a brilliant deal for the club, despite it just being a loan.
