Manchester United beat Everton in the Premier League this past weekend, and Garth Crooks was impressed by one particular Old Trafford star.
Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United got the better of Sean Dyche’s Everton 2-0 at Old Trafford in the Premier League this past Saturday.
Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford scored the goals for the Red Devils. Both goals came from the penalty spot.
Alejandro Garnacho won both the spot kicks, and former Tottenham Hotspur forward Garth Crooks has included the winger in his Premier League Team of the Week for BBC Sport.
The pundit has noted what makes the 19-year-old Argentina international winger a special player. TalkSPORT pundit Alan Pardew was impressed as well.
Garth Crooks praises Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho
Crooks told BBC Sport about Garnacho: “Two very badly timed tackles cost Everton this game. Does James Tarkowski or Ben Godfrey understand the perilous situation Everton find themselves and why they can’t afford to be reckless in their own box? You would have thought they’d have learnt their lessons by now.

“Meanwhile, Manchester United, having failed miserably against Fulham and not even laying a glove on Manchester City, continue to slalom their way through the season with glaring inconsistency but managed to beat Everton having been gifted two totally avoidable penalties.
“The only United player that showed any real endeavour was Garnacho. The Argentine looked sharp and interested. He was the player brought down for both infringements that cost Everton the game due to his willingness to take defenders on. Still one of the most exciting elements of the game.”
My View: Alejandro Garnacho is a rising Manchester United star
In my opinion, Alejandro Garnacho is one of the best young players around and has developed into an important player for Manchester United.
Garnacho is only 19 now, but you would not be surprised to see him in the United starting lineup on a regular basis. He is that good.
The winger has made 20 starts and six substitute appearances in the Premier League for United this season. The teenager has scored five goals and given three assists in those games.
Garnacho is just starting his career. While we should celebrate his talent and his performances, we must not ignore the fact that he is just a teenager. We have to be patient with him and allow him time to grow and develop at his own pace.
