Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has signed a lot of players during his time at Old Trafford, and after the match against Everton at Old Trafford, he has picked one of them for special praise.
Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United beat Sean Dyche’s Everton 2-0 at Old Trafford in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
Bruno Fernandes put the Red Devils in the lead in the 12th minute, and Marcus Rashford made it 2-0 to the home team from the penalty spot on 36 minutes.
Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag praises Jonny Evans
United had a number of big signings playing against Everton, including Andre Onana and Raphael Varane, but manager Ten Hag had picked Jonny Evans for praise.
Evans started the match for United and played for 89 minutes. He was deployed as a right centre-back, and Ten Has has raved about him.

Ten Hag told United’s official website about Evans: “Oh yeah, [I have been] very [impressed].
“We are so pleased we signed the fifth centre-back because normally, you say: ‘Why five centre-backs in the squad?’ But you see, we are so happy we did this.
“As you see, his performance across the season, he’s such an important player for this squad. [He will] always be there when he’s needed and give good performances.”
My View: Manchester United have to stop relying on Jonny Evans
I understand that Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag is using Jonny Evans due to injury problems, but it says a lot about the club that they are relying on a 36-year-old.
Evans is in his second spell at United, having moved back to Old Trafford in the summer of 2023.
The 36-year-old Netherlands international central defender has made 12 starts and six substitute appearances in the Premier League this season.
Evans has also made one start and one substitute appearance in the UEFA Champions League, one substitute appearance in the Carabao Cup and one start and two substitute appearances in the FA Cup.
While Evans is doing well, United simply cannot expect a 36-year-old to help them out week in and week out.
