Manchester City’s Rodri has responded to Dani Carvajal’s comments about wanting the midfielder to move to Real Madrid.
Spanish midfielder Rodri has been one of the starts of this years European Championships in Germany as Luis Del La Fuente’s side will play England in the final of the competition.
Rodri has become a key player for Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City with the Premier League champions simply not looking like the same formidable force without the influence of the Spaniard.
Yesterday, Real Madrid right-back Dani Carvajal had admitted that he has attempted to convince Rodri of a move to the Santiago Bernabeu ‘every day’ and the midfielder has responded to these rumours.

Rodri comments on future at Man City
Carvajal was quoted yesterday as saying the City midfielder would be ‘perfect’ for Madrid this summer but with three years left on his contract, a deal would surely be difficult.
Speaking to Spanish newspaper AS ahead of the European Championship final against England on Sunday, the midfielder was asked about his future at the Etihad Stadium.
I try to analyse all the decisions I make, to have a criterion,” Rodri said. “And, above all, I try to make processes. I’m very, very happy in England. I think I’m at one of the best clubs in the world, it’s obvious, and I’m happy. I have a three-year deal and, when the time comes, I will see,” Rodri explained.
“But I’ve said it before with regard to the short term. I don’t like it or it doesn’t make much sense to look at the long term. Spain is my country, Madrid my city, at home.”
“And well, when I went to Manchester, I remember a conversation I had with my parents in which they asked me if I was sure because I was going to another country, another culture. And, in the end, one is happy when one is sure of things. If I go back, it would be with conviction.”
Exceptional Rodri set to remain at City
The Spanish midfielder, as mentioned, still has three years to run on his deal at the Etihad Stadium and City would surely not countenance a sale.
Rodri has been superb for City since his move to the club from Atletico Madrid back in the summer of 2019 and has popped up with a plethora of vital goals.
Pep Guardiola is perhaps unsurprisingly a big fan of the Spanish midfielder who he once hailed as ‘exceptional‘.
