Real Madrid right-back Dani Carvajal has revealed that he has encouraged one Manchester City star to move to the Santiago Bernabeu.

Carlo Ancelotti’s Real Madrid have already been busy in the transfer market as they have announced the signing of French superstar Kylian Mbappe, who will wear the number 9 shirt.

As well as Mbappe, Los Blancos want another French superstar in Leny Yoro but Manchester United have made their move after they had an offer accepted for the 18-year-old.

However, sources have told HITC that the defender’s preference remains a move to the Santiago Bernabeu this summer.

Carvajal explains who has he has encouraged to join Madrid

It is no secret that Madrid are currently on top of the footballing food chain with multiple players dreaming of pulling on the famous white jersey.

Despite Manchester City winning their third Premier League title in a row under the stewardship of iconic manager Pep Guardiola, the Citizens are still below Madrid in the footballing food chain.

Erling Haaland may well be the next name that could make the move to Madrid someday but in an interview with Spanish outlet COPE, Dani Carvajal revealed that it is Rodri who the right-back is trying to convince.

“I tell Rodri every day to sign for Real Madrid,” Carvajal explained. “I tell him every day to leave Manchester, that there is no sun there and to come to Madrid that we need him”.

“He tells me he has a contract… but he would be perfect for us.”

Rodri has been arguably City’s most important player for a while now and the Spanish midfielder netted the winning goal in the Champions League final against Inter Milan last year.

Rodri to Real Madrid certainly makes a lot of sense

The former Atletico Madrid midfielder has become the fulcrum of the City side and the Citizens simply do not look like the same team without him.

A move to Madrid in the future could be a possibility but you wonder if his days at Atletico would prevent him from ever making the move to the Santiago Bernabeu.

The Spaniard signed a new five-year deal at the Premier League champions back in 2022 and that deal still has three years to run so it may be a little while yet before Carvajal’s desire to play with Rodri on a club level can be realised.
