According to La Republicca, Newcastle United are interested in Juventus’ Brazilian midfielder Arthur Melo.
The midfielder is a supreme talent. After all, he’s played for both Juventus and Barcelona in recent years.
However, you shouldn’t just take our word for it. Arthur has also been praised by one of the greatest midfielders of all-time, Andres Iniesta.
What’s Iniesta said about Arthur?
Iniesta has been full of praise for the former Barcelona man in the past.
“I think that just watching him play everybody realises that he is a player who has a strong personality, who always knows what to do with the ball,” Iniesta told DAZN.
“He is young, he also needs a process of adaptation to the team and, nevertheless, it is already seen that he is very attuned with that type of game.”
That isn’t the only time Iniesta has given Arthur a glowing review, he described him as exceptional when asked about the Juve man and Frenkie De Jong by Marca.
“They’re both exceptional players who carry a lot of weight on the pitch. They control the pace, the ball, the situation,” Iniesta said.

Newcastle target is some talent
Arthur Melo is a seriously talented footballer, and if Newcastle manage to bring him in they will have pulled off something of a coup.
Just look at how Iniesta speaks about him. You don’t earn praise like that from a World Cup winner unless you’re something special.
The fact that Barcelona gave him Iniesta’s famous number 8 shirt shows just how highly he was rated in Catalonia, and now, he may well end up on Tyneside.
This would be an excellent signing for United.
