Lazio are considering a swoop to sign Pierluigi Gollini in the summer transfer window as the goalkeeper’s future with Tottenham Hotspur is uncertain, according to Corriere della Sera.
Gollini joined Spurs in a season-long loan from Atalanta last summer in Fabio Paratici’s first window as their managing director. He and then-manager Nuno Espirito Santo secured the 26-year-old’s arrival with the view to understudying and pushing Hugo Lloris for minutes.
However, the Italian struggled to establish himself under Nuno and his successor, Antonio Conte. Gollini has so far made 10 appearances across all competitions, but is yet to feature in the Premier League. Conte also only let him face League One Morecambe in the FA Cup.

Tottenham and Atalanta agreed to a €13m (£11m) option to buy Gollini as part of his loan transfer last year. However, it is now almost certain the shot-stopper will return to Italy at the end of the term. His lack of minutes in north London has also lowered his market value.
Atalanta will now accept offers in the region of €10m (£8.5m) to offload Gollini during the summer. He has no future in Bergamo as the one-cap international’s contract there expires in 2023. La Dea head coach Gian Piero Gasperini also has no plans to welcome him back.
Lazio could sign Pierluigi Gollini in cut-price deal after Tottenham loan plight
Gollini’s Tottenham plight could therefore work in Lazio’s favour as they consider a transfer for the Atalanta-owned goalkeeper. The Bologna native convinces Maurizio Sarri’s side as the Biancocelesti admire what he offered in Serie A before moving to England last summer.

Lazio have even held talks with Gollini’s agent, Giuseppe Riso, over a move to the Stadio Olimpico. While Calciomercato report the Italian also wants to leave north London at the end of the term. He wants to embark on a new challenge with a side he will be the starter.
But Corriere della Sera add Gollini – who Graham Roberts has called ‘excellent’ – is just one shot-stopper on Lazio’s radar. Although talks with Riso has seen his case gain momentum.
