Tottenham fans have taken to Twitter to react after watching footage of Antonio Conte speaking to Thierry Henry.
When speaking to the Frenchman, Conte revealed that he would prefer to ‘kill’ a player with a bad attitude, rather than keep them around the squad.
Sky Sports quote him as saying: “I always talk about education and respect. I give this, but I demand this. If someone hasn’t got the good attitude during the training session or the good behaviour, in different circumstances, then I would prefer to kill him and have 22 players.
“If a manager closes his eyes and does not want to see the bad situation he will lose the changing room.”
After hearing these no-nonsense comments, the Tottenham fans are sold on Conte replacing José Mourinho in the dugout.
It seems as if the Tottenham supporters want someone tough holding the reins, who won’t stand for any tomfoolery around Hotspur Way.
One fan name-dropped Dele Alli, Harry Winks and Serge Aurier as three players who wouldn’t survive if Conte arrived in north London.
Another said the 51-year-old should be given the keys to the club, as he’s tactically very astute, but also tough enough to manage his players.
One fan even said that Conte should be ‘the only candidate’ for Daniel Levy.
Interestingly, reports are claiming that Levy has offered the Italian a contract worth £17 million-a-year.
Antonio Conte is the best option out there
Of course, after talk of Mauricio Pochettino potentially coming back broke, a number of fans now have their heart set on that, and understandably so.
However, all sentiment aside, there is no better option out there than Conte.
The ex-Chelsea boss has won nine trophies throughout his managerial career, and just secured Inter Milan’s first Serie A title in 11 years.
In just two seasons with Chelsea, Conte also won the Premier League and the FA Cup – he is a serial winner.
Of course, Pochettino would be a great appointment. However, Conte will surely help Tottenham get rid of any players who aren’t pulling their weight with his no-nonsense approach.
