Paul Pogba’s fitness will play a role in Juventus’ attempt to sign Lazio superstar Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, with Arsenal also interested in landing the Serbian international according to recent reports.
Gazzetta dello Sport report that the former Manchester United star’s situation will be key in if Juventus make a move to sign Milinkovic-Savic in January, with Pogba yet to play a single minute for the Old Lady since returning to the club this summer due to injury.
Pogba is set to miss the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar next month, and early fears suggest that the France international could be out until 2023. In which case, Juventus will launch a January move to sign Milinkovic-Savic, who is also wanted by the likes of Arsenal.
CalcioMercatoWeb have recently reported that Arsenal are one of the many sides keeping track of the Lazio star, who this season has been in quite sensational form in Serie A. And as a result, club president Claudio Lotito has demanded €120m (£107m) for his talismanic midfielder, a transfer fee which no clue will seemingly want to match.

However, recent reports seem to suggest that Juventus will stop at nothing to sign the Serbian international if the opportunity arises. And Pogba’s growing fitness issues could give the Italian giants the excuse needed to return to their old monopoly ways and recruit one of the best players in the division.
Indeed, such a move would springboard Juventus back into the UEFA Champions League qualification race. And for Arsenal, missing out on Milinkovic-Savic would be quite a blow for Mikel Arteta’s side given just how good the Lazio superstar is and how what the 27-year-old could offer to the Gunners.
Juventus signing Milinkovic-Savic feels inevitable regardless of Pogba

Juventus’ grip on Italian football has weakened greatly over the past two years, with the Scudetto finding its way over to Milan and this season the likes of Napoli and Atalanta aiming to break tradition and win the Serie A title for the first time in decades. Yet in regards to signing Milinkovic-Savic, the move feels almost inevitable.
After all, Juventus need something big in January to win support from their fans that their transitioning year could lead to results further down the line, and signing the best midfielder in Serie A in Milinkovic-Savic would do just that, even if Pogba returns to full fitness after the 2022 World Cup.
