Vieira is joining Arsenal again, it’s not Patrick, but the Gunners closing in on the signature of Porto’s attacking midfielder, Fabio.

According to Pedro Sepulveda, Arsenal activated the £34 million release clause in the 22-year-old’s contract and he is now on his way to London.

Jack Wilshere shared that he looked up the midfielder on YouTube, and whilst ‘everybody looks good on YouTube’, he likes what he sees from the player, who he claimed ‘looks like he has got a bit’, as he told talkSPORT.

If Arsenal can get this deal over the line, then he will be Mikel Arteta’s first capture of the 2022 summer transfer window, as Wilshere shared his thoughts.

“I will be honest, I haven’t heard too much about him,” said Wilshere. “I put him up on YouTube when I saw it. He looks good.

“Everyone looks good on YouTube. But he looks like he has got a bit. Six goals and 14 assists from midfield. That’s impressive.

“We all knew that Arsenal had to make some signings because they are in Europe. They need to get a bigger squad, so they are making moves, which is nice.

“They (Arsenal) will know about him. Watched him, scouted him and looked at his numbers. Time will tell, so it could be a bargain.”

VIEIRA TO GET ARSENAL’S SUMMER SPENDING ROLLING?

If a deal can get done for Vieira, then the Arsenal fans will be hoping it gets the ball rolling for a strong summer transfer window.

The last time a Vieira donned the colours of the north London club, he gracefully left as one of Arsenal’s greatest-ever players.

Now, Fabio will have to produce something ridiculous to match the now-Crystal Palace manager’s legacy, but this is his chance to make a name for himself.

Arsenal narrowly missed out on Champions League football last season and they will be looking to put things right this time around.

Adding much-needed depth to this thin squad and proven quality alongside the youngest squad in the Premier League will help matters.

Whilst another midfielder is entering the building, the main area of concern is the striker, with Gabriel Jesus tipped to swap Manchester City for the Emirates.
