According to The Times, Arsenal are now closing in on a £50m deal for Tottenham target Gabriel Jesus from Premier League rivals Manchester City.
What’s the story?
Well, this is big news for the Gunners.
Mikel Arteta has been tracking the Brazil international in recent weeks, although Arsenal have fallen short of the striker’s £50m valuation.
Now, however, The Times believe Arsenal will increase their offer for Jesus, with a £50m deal close to completion.
It comes after Tottenham also held talks with the 25-year-old, but Antonio Conte now looks set to miss out.
The Times state that Jesus wants to join Arsenal, and is keen to be reunited with Arteta who he worked alongside at the Etihad Stadium, when the Spaniard assisted Pep Guardiola in Manchester.

Arteta has overcome fears that the South American, who is a prime target for the Gunners this summer, will reject him due to a lack of Champions League football.
The news comes after Jesus made 41 appearances in all competitions last season, scoring 13 goals while also providing 12 assists.
Arsenal beating Tottenham to a great signing
In our view, this could be a transformative signing for Arsenal.
Jesus is one of the best forwards in Europe, although he hasn’t always been able to showcase his talents due to the fierce competition for playing time at Manchester City.

Guardiola has also used him out wide regularly, despite the fact his best position is in the centre of the attack.
Under a manager who knows him well, and creative players such as Bukayo Saka feeding him, Jesus has everything he needs to become a star at the Emirates Stadium.
He also has some fellow Brazilians in Gabriel Martinelli and Gabriel Magalhães to help him settle in.
With all things considered, we can’t see any negatives surrounding this deal whatsoever.
