Darren Bent told talkSPORT that he would sign Romelu Lukaku ‘every day of the week’ over Tottenham striker, Harry Kane.

The talkSPORT pundit suggested that he would rather pay £100 million for Lukaku than £150 million for vanished Tottenham’s hitman.

Both players could be on the move this summer, with Lukaku possibly eyeing a return to Chelsea, whilst Manchester City want to sign the England captain, as reported by BBC Sport.

The duo, regardless of whether they leave their respective clubs or not, will be the main talking points up until the transfer deadline day.

Former Spurs player, Bent, shared this take on the two players and who he would purchase.

“I would still give Man City the slight edge (title race),” said Bent. “If you asked me ‘would I pay £100 million for Lukaku or £150 million for Kane?’

“Then I would take Lukaku every day of the week. Have you seen how good he was in the previous big tournament and how good he was for Inter?

“There is no one on the planet. £150 million for Kane or £100 million for Lukaku? I am going Lukaku every day of the week.”

The summer transfer window isn’t for everyone and Spurs are probably in that bracket, so far.

If they can keep Kane on board then it will probably be the best piece of transfer business they do this summer.

Although, other names have already been brought through the door in Bryan Gil and Pierluigi Gollini.

But if Nuno Espirito Santo wants the best possible start to his Spurs career then he needs his Golden Boot winner in the club’s colours for next season.
