Ben White has told the London Evening Standard that he has been very impressed by Gabriel Martinelli in Arsenal training.

Standing out

Martinelli has finally been given a consistent run of Premier League starts at Arsenal and he is quickly proving his worth to Mikel Arteta.

The Brazilian now has hit three goals and claimed an assist in his last three outings in the league.

He is rapidly cementing his place in Arsenal’s starting line-up, especially after bagging a brace in the Gunners’ last outing against Leeds United.

But White says that he knew all about Martinelli’s ability after being very impressed by him in training.

“I see him every day, so it’s not really a surprise to me,” he said. “He’s a very talented player and that’s what we are all starting to see.”

White is not the only Arsenal man to be impressed by Martinelli’s performances at London Colney.

Perhaps more importantly Mikel Arteta has also recently stated how strong Martinelli’s displays have been at London Colney.

His breakthrough has been well timed at Arsenal, as it has covered for the absence of Pierre Emerick Aubameyang.

Arsenal certainly haven’t missed their more experienced forward so far.

In Arteta’s side’s last three matches they have scored nine goals, with the Spanish manager now facing real selection dilemmas up-front, with so many of his players in good form.
