The agent of Joaquin Correa, Alessandro Lucci, is working to convince Lazio to accept Inter Milan’s offer, despite already agreeing on terms with Everton, according to Calciomercato.

Inter have decided to target a late-window move for Correa under the instructions of head coach Simone Inzaghi. The Italian wants to be reunited with the Argentine after taking over at the San Siro this summer. Plus losing sure-fire goals with Romelu Lukaku joining Chelsea.

Nerazzurri chiefs have met with Lucci to discuss a move and reached an agreement on personal terms for Correa. But Lazio are yet to communicate to Inter their stance on an offer worth €30m (£25.5m). The bid is the Serie A champion’s absolute maximum offer.

Inter Milan want to make a breakthrough in talks with Lazio on Tuesday or Wednesday, amid rival interest from Everton. Alfredo Pedulla reports the Toffees and Biancocelesti have reached an agreement in principle for the 27-year-old, after the Mirror cited a £32m bid.

But Lucci is working to convince Lazio to accept Inter’s approach for Correa, even if it is less than Everton’s. The Nerazzurri are also confident that their offer will be enough to sign the six-cap star, knowing their Serie A rivals must make a key sale before the deadline.

Pedulla additionally notes Lazio also want Correa’s situation resolved by Wednesday, and that he prefers a move to Inter. The Copa America champion would secure a £77,000-per-week contract if he moves to Goodison Park. But Inzaghi’s pull may prove to be greater.

Lucci hands Everton blow in pursuit of Lazio forward and Inter Milan target Correa

Lucci has handed Everton a big blow in their pursuit of Correa by working to convince Lazio to sell the forward to Inter Milan. The Argentine already preferred a move to the San Siro and the chance to work with Inzaghi again.

Now, Inter and Lucci have agreed personal terms for Correa, who Lazio have agreed to sell to Everton. But if the Argentine holds out for the San Siro, he may force the Biancocelesti to sell for less. And, in doing so, work under Inzaghi, who speaks fondly of the playmaker.

“Correa is a formidable player,” Inzaghi said, via the Lazio website. “He is very intelligent tactically, he sacrifices a lot for the team. I am happy with his double [against AC Milan]. When he has no problems and can train continuously, he always proves to be able to play three games at the highest levels.”
