Everton have increased their offer for Lazio forward Joaquin Correa and are confident of getting him signed before the transfer deadline.
That’s according to The Sunday Mirror (22/08, p67), who claim that Everton are ramping up their efforts to get the Argentinian ace signed up.
Everton’s offer is now up to £32million including add-ons, with the Toffees now believing that a deal can be done in the next week.
Correa has emerged as Rafael Benitez’s top target, and this new bid will hopefully tempt Lazio into selling.
Everton want a quick answer to their new bid, seemingly fearing that they are running out of time to get a deal done.
Correa’s agent is happy with the deal on offer, with Everton willing to pay Correa £4million-a-year – around £77,000-a-week.

Lazio have now signed Roma winger Pedro to bolster their attacking options, seemingly preparing for life after Correa given that he doesn’t naturally fit into Maurizio Sarri’s 4-3-3 system.
Primarily a striker or number 10, Correa hit 11 goals and six assists last season and could be the ideal player to work just behind Dominic Calvert-Lewin in the Everton attack.
