Sky Sports journalist Michael Bridge has been speaking to Everton target Conor Gallagher, who sent a message to Crystal Palace fans.

What’s the story?

Well, the 22-year-old became a fan favourite at Selhurst Park last term during a season-long loan from Chelsea.

Gallagher scored eight goals in 39 appearances, while also providing five assists as he made his way into the England squad alongside Tyrick Mitchell and Marc Guéhi.

Patrick Vieira is keen to have him back in south London, while Frank Lampard was supposedly confident of striking a deal with Chelsea due to his relationship with the Blues.

However, it seems Gallagher is set to stay at Stamford Bridge, having impressed Thomas Tuchel during pre-season.

Despite that, the exciting midfielder still sent a message to the Crystal Palace supporters.

Clearly, Gallagher still holds those in SE25 close to his heart, after a very productive loan spell in south London.

It remains to be seen if Chelsea will allow him to leave, although Vieira is doubtful.

The Frenchman recently said: “At the moment I don’t think there is any chance because he is a Chelsea player. He did fantastically well for us, but he is in pre-season with Chelsea and honestly we wish him all the best. I don’t think there is a way to get him back.”

Crystal Palace & Everton going for the same Conor Gallagher alternative

In our view, Vieira and Lampard have identified the same player as an alternative to Gallagher.

Both the Eagles and the Toffees have an interest in Wolves gem Morgan Gibbs-White, with Everton already seeing a bid worth £25m rejected by Bruno Lage.

According to the Guardian, Crystal Palace have a serious interest in the 22-year-old, but the England Under-21 international wants to fight for his place at Molineux.

Crystal Palace and Everton are clearly trying to find similar players, so be sure to keep an eye on both clubs to see if they can find the right man.
