According to Goal, Crystal Palace have sent an enquiry to Chelsea regarding a permanent deal for Conor Gallagher, with Newcastle and Everton also keen.
What’s the story?
Well, it was TEAMtalk who revealed Everton are interested in signing the England international, whereas the Daily Mail claimed Newcastle want him.
Now, Crystal Palace have lodged an official enquiry to those at Stamford Bridge, in the hope of keeping their loan star at Selhurst Park.
Gallagher has shone for the south Londoners during his season-long loan from Chelsea, scoring eight goals in 31 appearances, while also providing five assists.
Goal believe the Eagles also asked Chelsea if the 22-year-old could play in the FA Cup Semi-Final next Sunday.
As per the terms of the loan agreement, Gallagher is unable to face his parent side, and the Blues have now turned down Crystal Palace’s request.
With the ability he has, we don’t blame them.
Crystal Palace better placed than Newcastle or Everton

In our view, if Gallagher did push for a move away from Chelsea, or Thomas Tuchel expressed a willingness to cash in, Crystal Palace would surely be at the front of the queue.
The Epsom-born wonderkid has shone under Patrick Vieira, thriving in the Frenchman’s system and earning three England caps as a result.

With the World Cup on the horizon, it would be a gamble for Gallagher to try something different.
At Selhurst Park, he is a vital cog, and Vieira is getting the best out of him, so it would make sense to stay in SE25 if he wants to be travelling to Qatar with Gareth Southgate in November.
