Everton have their sights set on a European spot this season, and for that to happen, David Moyes needs the right backing in January.

The Everton boss is looking to bring in three new players, specifically targeting a striker, midfielder and full-back.

There has also been talk about a move for Mateus Mane following his impressive start at Wolves.

Everton have had an eye on Imran Louza as well, with Watford potentially already lining up his replacement in Edoardo Bove.

And now there is word that Everton are interested in bringing in a right-back who has already featured for England.

Brooke Norton-Cuffy is the latest right-back to be linked with Everton, as they continue their search for options in that position.

But it is Ben White who has become the new focus, according to journalist Pete O’Rourke.

Despite limited game time this season due to Jurrien Timber’s excellent form, White remains highly regarded in Premier League circles.

The former Brighton defender has played a big role in Mikel Arteta’s set-up over the past few years, helping to shape their defensive strength.

White has two and a half years left on his current contract, meaning any deal would likely require a significant investment from the Friedkin Group.

Everton should not spend over £30m for Ben White

Arsenal paid close to £50m to bring in White back in the summer of 2022, and his reputation has only grown since then.

The 6ft 1in defender has made 172 appearances for the Gunners and has featured 24 times in the Champions League.

While that level of experience could be a big boost for Everton, it is hard to justify spending more than £30m on him.

Finding a striker should be the main focus this window, so most of the funds need to go towards that position.
