Bukayo Saka is closing in on a new deal to stay at Arsenal.
The winger has been in discussions with the club for several months, having less than two years left on his current deal.
And it now appears a breakthrough has been made, with David Ornstein reporting on Friday that Saka and Arsenal have agreed terms on a contract running through to 2031.
While that’s certainly a positive development, Andrea Berta isn’t slowing down. The Sporting Director already has further moves lined up for the club’s future.
Andrea Berta lining up more Arsenal contract talks following Bukayo Saka’s new deal

Berta has made a strong impression since stepping into the role of sporting director at Arsenal.
The Italian came in with high expectations after taking over from Edu Gaspar last year, and he’s more than lived up to the hype so far.
He brought in eight new players during the summer window and also played a key role in getting Gabriel Magalhaes, Myles Lewis-Skelly, Ethan Nwaneri, and William Saliba to commit their futures to the club.
Saka’s contract is now sorted as well, with only an official announcement left before it becomes public.
After that, according to The Athletic, three more players are expected to follow suit. Jurrien Timber is already in talks for a new deal after impressing over the past year and a half.
The other two names mentioned are Declan Rice and Kai Havertz, with discussions said to be on the cards for both players soon. It looks like Berta isn’t slowing down any time soon as he continues shaping Arsenal’s future.
Arsenal have three urgent contract extensions to resolve
Berta is making the right call by turning his attention to Timber, Rice, and Havertz now that Saka’s contract is sorted.
Once those contracts are addressed, he’ll need to shift focus again.
Gabriel Martinelli will soon be down to the final year of his deal. If Arsenal don’t want to lose him for nothing in 2027, they’ll need to make a decision on whether he stays or goes.
Meanwhile, David Raya and Martin Odegaard will have two years left come July, so their situations will also need looking into.
Martinelli feels like a likely sale this summer, but extending Raya and Odegaard would be a smart move for Arsenal.
