With Everton struggling in the Premier League, Frank Lampard now has a golden chance to sign long-term target Daniel Jebbison.

What’s the story?

Well, the Toffees made a £5m bid for the Sheffield United wonderkid back in August 2021, shortly after he became the youngest player to score a winning goal on his Premier League debut at Goodison Park.

That was according to The Athletic.

The 19-year-old has since seen his development stagnate after the Blades were relegated, although there is no denying his immense talent.

According to The Athletic, Sheffield United think Jebbison could even become better than Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who rose though the ranks at Bramall Lane before joining Everton.

Now, Everton have a golden chance to finally pinch the teenager from Sheffield United.

As detailed by Yorkshire Live, the Championship outfit have been slapped with a transfer embargo following an issue regarding payment of a transfer fee to another side.

There are serious financial problems at Bramall Lane, and Yorkshire Live state that they can only be eased with promotion to the Premier League, significant investment or through player sales.

That latter point should make Kevin Thelwell – Director of Football at Everton – and Lampard sit up and take notice.

Jebbison – along with Sander Berge, Jayden Bogle and Iliman Ndiaye – is one of Sheffield United’s most valuable assets, so if Everton came along with another £5m bid, it could be accepted this time around.

Everton must pinch Jebbison

Even if Lampard doesn’t have any immediate plans for Jebbison, Everton have to pounce on the opportunity and take advantage of Sheffield United’s situation.

For example, if significant investment does arrive at Bramall Lane within a few weeks, the Blades will no longer need to sell any of their best players, meaning Everton lose out on the chance to be a vulture.

In our view, the Toffees should even consider signing Jebbison with the intention of loaning him back for the remainder of the campaign – he has far too much potential to be overlooked in the current circumstances.
