The Burnley manager has been linked with the vacant Everton position.
James Tarkowski has urged Sean Dyche to stay put at Burnley amid recent links to Everton.
Dyche began the week as favourite with the bookies to become the next Premier League to leave his position, and was among the front runners to succeed Ronald Koeman at Everton.
But the 46-year-old, who has led Burnley to seventh in the top flight after keeping them up last season, has since drifted out of contention in both markets.
And defender Tarkowski told the Lancashire Telegraph: “The gaffer has been terrific with the lads so it’s no surprise that other teams have been looking at him. We all want him to stay.
“We’re building something quite special, it’s a long process and to go from where we were five years ago the club is heading in the right direction and everybody wants to be a part of that.”
Tarkowski though, went on to suggest that Dyche would be a good appointment for Everton – or any other club interested in prising him away – based on the impact he’s had at Turf Moor.
“I’ve only been here for two years and the gaffer hasn’t only contributed to the football side, it’s the community, the training ground, it’s everything,” he added.
“He’s put a lot of work in so we would like him to stay.”
Everton were rumoured to be close to appointing Sam Allardyce as manager this week, but the ex-England boss told Talksport on Thursday he “wouldn’t be sat here talking if Everton were negotiating a contract with me”.
But with talk of Dyche to Everton dying down over the past few days, Burnley fans – and Tarkowski – should not be quite as alarmed as they once may have been.
