Everton are showing an interest in Sean Dyche replacing Frank Lampard if Farhad Moshiri elects to sack another manager. He has already fired five coaches since buying the Toffees.
That is according to The Sun, which reports Moshiri is starting to draw up a new shortlist of potential hires. Lampard is now in a fight to keep a hold of the hot seat after the Goodison Park club fell into the Premier League relegation zone. They have 15 points from 18 games.

Brighton & Hove Albion further dealt Everton their ninth defeat of the season so far with a 4-1 win at Goodison on Tuesday. Lampard is now winless in six games since beating Crystal Palace on October 22. His team also have the third-worst offence with just 14 goals scored.

Everton are interested in appointing Dyche for if Moshiri opts to sack Lampard
Only relegation rivals Wolves (11) and Nottingham Forest (13) have scored fewer goals this season than Everton. So, now that the Toffees are inside the bottom three of the table, as, well, Moshiri is considering a change. He had only hired Lampard on January 31, 2022, too.
Former Everton boss Roberto Martinez is one name on Moshiri’s radar, along with Toffees legend Wayne Rooney. The Spaniard left his position as the head coach of Belgium after a dire World Cup campaign. While Rooney took charge of MLS franchise DC United last July.
Moshiri also admires Celtic coach Ange Postecoglou after his successful stint since taking charge in 2021. But Dyche’s name is also on Everton’s radar for in case they sack Lampard. The 51-year-old has remained out of work since Burnley sacked him in April after 10 years.

Dyche only has a 28.5% win rate at Goodison Park after seven previous visits
Dyche took over Burnley in 2012 and led the Clarets to promotion from the Championship into the Premier League twice. The Turf Moor natives finished second in the second-tier in 2013/14 before winning the title in 2015/16. He then led Burnley into Europe for 2018/19.
The Clarets contested three qualifying stages of the Europa League after finishing seventh in the Premier League in 2017/18. But they fell in the play-off round after a 4-2 defeat on aggregate to Olympiacos. Dyche’s Clarets had pipped Sam Allardyce’s Everton for seventh.
Allardyce had replaced Ronald Koeman at the Goodison helm earlier in the term. They are two of the five managers that Moshiri has already sacked since first purchasing shares in Everton. He first fired Martinez in 2016 and has also sacked Marco Silva and Rafa Benitez.

Carlo Ancelotti also walked on his own accord in 2022 to return to Real Madrid. The Italian was the last Everton manager that Dyche beat at Goodison while in charge of Burnley, too. His Clarets edged the Toffees 2-1 on Merseyside in March 2021 after a Dwight McNeil goal.
Benitez, before Moshiri sacked him, then edged Dyche’s Burnley 3-1 in September 2021 in his last visit to Everton. Dyche’s only other win at Goodison other than in 2021 came back in 2017 against Koeman’s side. He lost once against Martinez, Koeman, Silva and Ancelotti.
So, Moshiri may now hire Dyche, a manager with a 28.5% win rate at Goodison, to replace Lampard if he opts to sack the 44-year-old. But Dyche is a head coach who Danny Murphy called ‘brilliant’ for his work ethic, organisation and work on the training ground at Burnley.
