Everton wanted to sign Arkadiusz Milik over the summer and the striker has now been involved in absolute chaos at Juventus.
It didn’t take a genius to spot that Everton really needed to bring in new attacking firepower.
Richarlison was sold to Tottenham Hotspur and Dominic Calvert-Lewin picked up yet another injury, leaving Everton very short up top.
Everton’s attacking struggles were clear in the opening weeks of this season and Frank Lampard was able to snap up Neal Maupay.
Everton did have other irons in the future with Polish hitman Milik believed to be a target.

Everton wanted to sign Arkadiusz Milik
Reports from France back in August suggested that Everton were offered the chance to sign Milik with Marseille willing to sell.
Milik looked like the proven goalscorer Everton needed.
The 28-year-old hit 20 goals in all competitions for Marseille last season and his availability was surely of interest to the Toffees.
Everton missed out though as Juventus swooped in to sign Milik, landing him on loan for the season.
Milik jumped at the chance to join such a huge club and this means he returns to Italy having previously impressed for Napoli.
The ‘incredible’ striker scored against Spezia and Fiorentina, giving him two goals in his first three Juventus outings.
That tally almost became three in five on Sunday night as Juventus took on Salternitana.
Juventus remarkably went 2-0 down as Antonio Candreva and Krzysztof Piatek had the visitors in dreamland.
Bremer hauled Juve back into it before Leonardo Bonucci levelled it up, firing home when his penalty was saved.
Milik then thought he had grabbed a dramatic winner, heading in a last-gasp corner – but that’s when chaos started.
Milik was sent off for a second yellow card having taken off his shirt to celebrate and the goal was erroneously ruled out thanks to VAR.
VAR missed a Salernitana player standing in a position that left Bonucci – who was adjudged to have been interfering with play – onside.
As Milik was sent off, there were further red cards with Juventus defender Juan Cuadrado, Juve boss Max Allegri and Salernitana defender Federico Fazio all sent off.
It was a completely bonkers end to the game but Milik should have another goal on his Juventus tally – and he’s showing what Everton are missing out on in the final third.
