Everton lost Carlo Ancelotti to Real Madrid earlier this month, leaving the Toffees seeking a new manager – a position they didn’t expect to be in.
Majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri has been through Roberto Martinez, Ronald Koeman, Sam Allardyce, Marco Silva and now Ancelotti, meaning he needs to get this next move right.
A host of names have been linked with the job, but Everton don’t seem close to making a decision just yet.
Who’s in contention for the job?
The Daily Mail reported last weekend that that Nuno Espirito Santo was set to be appointed, but that hasn’t happened yet.
Rafael Benitez is a name being touted, whilst BeFoot reported last week that Everton had opened talks to try and appoint Lille boss Christophe Galtier.
Who is Christopher Galtier?
Galtier just won the title for Lille against all odds, pipping Paris Saint-Germain to the crown despite working on a much smaller budget.
With Lille now in financial problems, Galtier has been expected to move to Nice, but Everton seemingly have him on their wish list – though it’s unclear just how interested they are right now.

Everton fans campaign for Galtier deal
Everton supporters have been bombarding Twitter with a new campaign, all posting on the hashtag ‘#GaltierToGoodison’.
Hundreds of tweets were posted by Toffees fans begging for the club to bring in Galtier, believing that he should be given ‘whatever he wants’ to become Everton boss.
Others believe Galtier is a ‘magician’ whilst suggesting that the Frenchman is the only man for the job.
