Everton have brought in Rafael Benitez as their new boss, and he could move for Newcastle United winger Allan Saint-Maximin if new rumours are true.
The Toffees struck a controversial deal to make Benitez their new manager, ignoring his ties to Liverpool and the fears of fans in order to bring him to Goodison Park.
Benitez needs new recruits to bolster his Newcastle squad, and a fascinating rumour emerged over the weekend amid links to Saint-Maximin.
The Mirror claim that Benitez is keen to sign Saint-Maximin from the Magpies if Richarlison leaves Everton and follows Carlo Ancelotti to Real Madrid.
That is rather surprising as it’s noted that Benitez was against Newcastle’s idea to sign Saint-Maximin in 2019; the Magpies only signed him after Benitez left the club.
Maybe Benitez has changed his mind now, as Saint-Maximin has impressed in the Premier League with blistering pace and incredible dribbling.

The Frenchman hasn’t always had great end product and has suffered a number of injuries, so Everton fans are pretty split on the idea of him signing.
Some believe that Saint-Maximin is an ‘incredible talent’, urging the club to ‘get him ASAP’ as he would bring real pace to the side.
Others think that Saint-Maximin is just another Alex Iwobi, and wouldn’t be worth anywhere near the £50million Newcastle may seek.
