Everton reportedly face competition for Andre Gomes.

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly considering trying to hijack Everton’s hopes of signing Andre Gomes permanently.
The Telegraph report it was Gomes who Tottenham chief scout Steve Hitchen was watching at the recent Merseyside derby.
Gomes is at Everton on a season long loan from Barcelona. There is no current fixed option to buy.
The Portuguese midfielder’s experience at the Nou Camp is one he would rather forget, and he has been thriving at Everton.
He looks happy to be playing again, and it would be a gamble on his part not to take up a permanent move to Everton, even though Spurs are likely to be able to offer Champions League football next season.

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino is reportedly a long term admirer and Spurs will be kicking themselves for failing to get a summer loan deal done.
Everton fans are anxious they can complete a move for Gomes, and growing interest will make their task harder and potentially push Barcelona’s asking price up.

At the same time, Everton are more aggressive in the transfer market at present, with Tottenham failing to bring in a single player in the summer.
Everton fans are hopeful the club will be able to outbid Tottenham if it comes down to a bidding war…
