- EXCLUSIVE from Graeme Bailey
HITC understands that Everton are closing in on a loan addition this summer after Sean Dyche’s side have suffered back-to-back defeats to kick off the Premier League season.
Sean Dyche’s Everton suffered a big defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion at Goodison Park on the opening day of the season before another hammering this time to Tottenham Hotspur in North London.
In the transfer window, the Toffees have not had much money to spend but the Merseyside club have still made a plethora of signings.
Everton signed Jack Harrison from Leeds United and have also brought in former Sheffield United winger Iliman Ndiaye. As well as this, Lyon defender Jake O’Brien moved to the Toffees.
Sources have told HITC that Everton are closing in on another addition.

Everton close in on Orel Mangala loan
HITC sources can confirm that prospective Everton owner John Textor has helped set up a loan deal for the Merseyside club that will see Orel Mangala move to Goodison Park on loan.
Everton are desperate to bolster their squad before Friday and Textor is set to use his French club Lyon to help the Toffees make further additions to their squad before this week’s deadline.
Mangala, whose permanent move to Lyon from Nottingham Forest was only finalised this summer, has fallen out of favour with Lyon boss Pierre Sage.
The former Forest midfielder completed his transfer to Lyon on deadline day in January with HITC reporting that Mangala’s move to Lyon netted the East Midlands club £30 million.
Mangala’s deal was structured as a £10 million with a further £20 million obligation to get the deal for the Belgian midfielder.
Mangala’s stance on Everton move explained
Sources have confirmed to HITC that Mangala is open to the prospect of moving to Goodison Park this summer.
During Mangala’s time at Forest, the Belgian had performed well for the East Midlands side and was hailed for his performances against Germany with a 3-2 win for the Red Devils.
Mangala was hailed as ‘monstrous’ by Walfoot alongside Amadou Onana, who joined Aston Villa from the Toffees this summer, and it now appears the Belgian could come in as a potential replacement for the Toffees.
