The Everton ace has been absent from action all season long.
The Toffees have been on a miserable run of late, and currently find themselves deeply entrenched in a relegation battle, following an underwhelming return of just eight points from their opening nine Premier League games.
They have not been helped in their quest to climb the table, however, by Barkley’s absence.
The 23-year-old has not played for the Merseyside outfit this season, after suffering a hamstring injury during training in August, and his presence in the side has unquestionably been missed.
And Unsworth told reporters how he hopes to see the England international back involved with the first-team squad sooner rather than later, as quoted by EvertonFC.com:
“We hope Ross is three or four weeks away from being in the squad. The long term injuries are as they were, but Ross is closer to coming back.”

Aside from his injury, Barkley’s future at Goodison Park is far from certain, with his contract with the club set to expire next summer.
And whether he is offered terms on a new deal with depend heavily on what he brings to the side upon his return form injury.
