Fabrizio Romano has suggested on Twitter that Everton want to sign Anwar El Ghazi from Aston Villa in the January transfer window.

The well-known and well-respected journalist has reported that Villa are in talks with Everton over signing Digne.

Talks are going on, according to Romano, who has said that 26-year-old winger El Ghazi has been discussed.

It suggests that Everton want to sign the Netherlands international winger, who cost Villa £8 million in transfer fees in 2019 (The Guardian).

Do Everton need Aston Villa winger Anwar El Ghazi?

In our opinion, Everton do not need to sign Anwar El Ghazi from Villa in the January transfer window.

The Toffees have enough good wingers in their squad.

Andros Townsend and Demarai Gray joined Everton only in the summer of 2021.

El Ghazi is 26 now, and although he has his best years ahead of him, we do not think that Everton need him right now.

The Villa no. 21 has made four starts and five substitute appearances in the Premier League for Villa so far this season.

The Dutchman has scored one goal and provided one assist in those games.

The winger has scored two goals and given two assists in two Carabao Cup ties this campaign.
