Everton want Anthony Elanga with the Toffees hoping to benefit from Manchester United making their move for Ajax star Antony.
The Toffees need reinforcements in the final third anyway having sold Richarlison to Tottenham Hotspur, but losing Anthony Gordon would only exacerbate the problem.
Chelsea are attempting to sign Gordon in a huge deal, and whilst seeing him leave would be a blow, bringing in big money would give Frank Lampard some cash to spend.
Permanent signings would be welcomed, but Everton could now look to land an exciting loan addition in Manchester United talent Elanga.
Everton want Anthony Elanga
The Daily Mail report that Everton are interested in signing United winger Elanga, with the Swede potentially available on loan.
It’s suggested that Elanga could be allowed to leave on loan should United secure the signing of Ajax winger Anthony.
The irony here is that Antony to United has actually been holding up another transfer.
Reports suggest that Everton have been trying to sign Mohammed Kudus from Ajax, but the Dutch giants don’t want to lose both him and Antony.
The deal has stalled whilst United look to thrash out a big-money move for Antony, but Everton could still benefit by snapping up Elanga.
The 20-year-old wide man emerged into the United first team last season, bagging three goals in 27 appearances.
Elanga started for United in Monday’s 2-1 win over Liverpool and hit the post in the first half before setting up Jadon Sancho’s goal.
Elanga caused no end of problems for Trent Alexander-Arnold but was still substituted at half-time for Anthony Martial.
The arrival of Antony would push Elanga down the pecking order and Everton could be a great temporary home for him to show his quality before returning to Old Trafford.
Hailed as ‘electric’ by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Elanga has already shown major Premier League promise and could provide a spark for Everton should a late loan move materialise.
