Lazio are in a position where they need to sell in order to sign players, and the 27-year-old, who is valued at £70m according to CalcioMercato, is set to leave the club in order to recoup some much-needed finances for the Roman side.
With such an important player leaving Lazio, Sarri has set his sights on Loftus-Cheek as a replacement for Milinkovic-Savic, with Newcastle also interested in the Chelsea star this summer.
90min have claimed that the England midfielder has been on Newcastle’s wishlist for the 2022 summer transfer window since PIF’s takeover of the club last October, and Loftus-Cheek could well be on the move.
Hailed as a ‘perfect’ passer of the ball by Matthew Upson via BBC One, Loftus-Cheek will not be short of suitors, yet given the midfielder’s relationship with Sarri during their time in west London, Lazio would consider themselves heavy favourites for the Chelsea star.
Newcastle could lose out on Loftus-Cheek to Lazio this summer

Loftus-Cheek has always shown great promise as a midfielder, though injuries and the ever-changing carnival that is Chelsea Football Club has made it hard for the Lazio and Newcastle target to remain settled.
However, with two major clubs now interested in the 26-year-old, Loftus-Cheek could finally depart the English capital, with Sarri no doubt feeling confident about signing the midfielder if given the finances to sign the Chelsea star.
