Manchester United forward Jadon Sancho has finally returned to Borussia Dortmund on loan and his old teammate Erling Haaland has reacted to the news.
A loan deal was agreed yesterday – as reported by HITC Football – with the 23-year-old returning to the Bundesliga.
HITC Football has explained the full terms of the deal that has seen Jadon Sancho swap Manchester United for Dortmund for the rest of the season and his new club have taken to social media to celebrate their new arrival.
It’s been a busy few days for Edin Terzic’s side as they also confirmed the arrival of Chelsea’s Ian Maatsen.
Sancho is in desperate need of a fresh start after a disastrous 2023/24 campaign with his time at Manchester United surely coming to an end sooner rather than later.
Dortmund confirm arrival of Sancho
The reason Manchester United decided to sign Sancho for £73m in the first place was because of his outrageous form in Germany.
Sancho – alongside a certain Erling Haaland at Dortmund – was one of the most exciting players in the Bundesliga.
In his final season, he provided 19 goal contributions in the league, building on the 59 he provided in the previous two campaigns combined.
That form seems an awful long way from where Sancho is now, having played just 79 league minutes under Erik ten Hag this season.

Haaland reacts to Sancho’s arrival at Dortmund
The Black-Yellow posted on their Instagram on Thursday afternoon and shared Sancho’s new squad number.
They said: “There’s a new number 10 in Dortmund!” to which Haaland replied with two love heart eyes emojis.

It’s a change from Sancho’s previous number, when he occupied the number seven which is now worn by Gio Reyna.
This time around, Sancho has a new number nine at Dortmund to link up with who isn’t Erling Haaland.
Instead, Sebastien Haller is his new centre-forward partner and Sancho will hope he can conjure up a similar relationship to the one he had with the exceptional Norwegian.
Dortmund loan make or break for Sancho
When Sancho swapped the Westfalenstadion for Old Trafford, he would have probably imagined that he would be preparing for the European Championships in a few months.
Instead, he couldn’t be further from Gareth Southgate’s radar after a really difficult time at Manchester United.
Sancho’s move to the Premier League from Dortmund couldn’t have gone much differently from his old partner-in-crime Haaland.
Dortmund is the best place for Sancho to show the footballing world that he can once again be a top-class player.
The Dortmund he’s returning to is in a worse state than when he left and he’s going to have to be responsible for helping them realise their potential once again.
Catching Bayer Leverkusen and Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga is going to be a near-impossible task.
However, a Champions League last-16 tie against PSV Eindhoven should give him the perfect opportunity to showcase his talents on the European stage.
