Chelsea winger Mykhailo Mudryk has lauded Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane as a ‘very good player’ following his record-breaking goal for England.

On Thursday night, Harry Kane became England’s all-time leading goalscorer (54) by surpassing Wayne Rooney’s tally when he netted from the spot during his side’s 2-1 Euro 2024 qualifying win over Italy in Naples – the Manchester United legend reacted to that moment.

After recently becoming Tottenham’s all-time top-scorer, this is another individual record to add to the 29-year-old’s name.

Of course, that team trophy still alludes one of the complete forwards in the Premier League, but that’s probably why his current Spurs contract will have 12 months left to run in the summer – Thierry Henry has recently advised him to leave.

Nonetheless, on Sunday afternoon England will host Ukraine at Wembley, with Chelsea summer signing Mudryk expected to start for his nation – the January signing could have joined Tottenham’s north London rivals Arsenal, but instead, a move didn’t materialise and now he is at Stamford Bridge.

Well, the 22-year-old is still trying to get warm in his seat in London and he will be hoping to make his mark against the Three Lions at Wembley, as he shared why he is a huge fan of Harry Kane, as he told Sky Sports News (25/03/23).

“(Kane’s) a very good player,” said Mudryk. “A quality player. I know a little bit about him and I like the way he works to become a top scorer of all time for England. I like him.”

KANE HAS A BIG CALL TO MAKE

That’s the England and Tottenham goalscoring records Kane has in the bag. But not that team trophy.

With Antonio Conte heading for the Spurs door, sooner rather than later, then that’s another trophy-winning coach failing to do the business at Hotspur Way.

Kane has pushed as far as he can push, in terms of performances, but he is still empty-handed. That’s why in a few months, he has a big call to make on whether he signs a new contract or follows Conte out of the door, even if someone like Julian Nagelsmann is appointed.
