Simon Jordan has warned Sadio Mane about wanting to leave Liverpool this summer by using Philippe Coutinho as an example and how he has ‘ended up at Aston Villa’, as he told talkSPORT.
On Wednesday, rumours surfaced that Liverpool rejected a second bid rising to £30 million for Mane from German giants, Bayern Munich, as reported by Sky Sports.
Many are questioning why Mane wants to leave Anfield, especially given that the Premier League is regarded as the best in the world and the 30-year-old is winning the lot on Merseyside
Back in 2018, Coutinho opted to leave Liverpool and sign for Barcelona, only to struggle and he is now donning Aston Villa colours, albeit now flourishing under his former teammate, Steven Gerrard.
Jordan was reacting to Liverpool rejecting a second bid for Mane from Bayern and seemingly warned the ‘potent’ star that the grass might not be greener on the other side.
“I think his departure has been priced in,” said Jordan. “I think the Diaz signing has been priced into their thinking.
“It’s about money now. Mane was probably always going to go and it has come to light now that he is more robust about leaving now than he originally was.
“Mane is such a potent part of their strike force. Klopp and Liverpool, as they have done previously, will go on. Make changes, amend and move things around.
“They didn’t want Coutinho to leave. He went. Did nothing elsewhere and ends up at Aston Villa. And if Sadio Mane wants to go.
“It’s going to get hard what you want. £40 million quid for a player that is 30, on the last year of his contract, is a difficult one to achieve.”

NUNEZ TO REPLACE MANE?
Liverpool did bring Luis Diaz to the club in January, with Mane and Mo Salah’s contracts due to expire next summer.
So, perhaps they had one eye on the future, in that regard, but Darwin Nunez might be the one to replace Mane’s goal.
The Reds are probably resigned that their Africa Cup of Nations winning star wants to leave this summer, hence why they are pushing the boat out for Nunez.
But, either way, it seems as though Diaz, Nunez and Salah, with Diogo Jota and Roberto Firmino as back-ups, could be Liverpool’s front line for next season.
