Paddy McNair

Patrick "Paddy" McNair (born 27 April 1995) is a Northern Irish professional footballer who plays as a centre-back. McNair was first discovered by Manchester United's Northern Ireland-based club scout Tony Coulter when McNair was 12, and began travelling to train with United during school holidays. He eventually signed for Manchester United in 2011, having impressed club scouts in a midfield role for Ballyclare Colts, but was later converted into a defender by United youth coach Paul McGuinness.Whilst making the transition from midfield to defence, McNair was compared to Michael Carrick by McGuinness.
