Here is the latest news coming out of Arsenal with one of the Gunners’ key targets set to remain at his current club.
Benjamin Sesko no-go
The Slovenian striker was understood to be the main transfer target for the Gunners in a forward position but HITC have now reported that Benjamin Sesko is set to sign a new deal at Red Bull Leipzig.
This will come as a huge blow for the Gunners with the 21-year-old Slovenian looking to be Mikel Arteta’s man but the club will have to move onto different targets.
Sesko is understood to appreciate the support given to him by the Red Bull franchise and his people have told interested parties, including Arsenal and Chelsea, that he will be remaining in Germany.
Arsenal will now have to look elsewhere. Sesko has a release clause in his contract that will be valid next summer, too.

Joshua Zirkzee
Ben Jacobs, writing in CaughtOffside, has reported that the Gunners remain keen on adding a new forward to the team and Dutch forward Joshua Zirkzee is on the list.
With the Bologna forward, who scored 12 Serie A goals last season, having a cheap release clause reportedly at £34 million, the interest makes a lot of sense.
Manchester United are also interested in the Dutchman as well as AC Milan but it would make a lot of sense if the North London club did decide to make a move for the former Bayern Munich forward.
Evan Ferguson
Alongside Zirkzee and Sporting Lisbon forward Viktor Gyokeres is Brighton & Hove Albion striker Evan Ferguson, Jacobs claims.
Last season for the Irishman was certainly not as successful for Ferguson as the 2022/23 campaign was but nevertheless he remains a player in demand.
Jacobs mentions the Irishman as the third option that Arsenal could turn to if they cannot get the Zirkzee or Gyokeres deals over the line.
Last season under Roberto De Zerbi, who departed the club this summer, Ferguson scored just six Premier League goals in 27 appearances for the Seagulls.
In a better environment he could excel but it is unclear how much the South Coast side would demand for the forward.
Jakub Kiwior
It is unclear what the future holds for Polish defender Jakub Kiwior but a move to Serie A could well be on the cards according to reports from Italy.
AC Milan have already been linked with a move for Kiwior but TuttoMercatoWeb have advanced the story with Juventus the next name to be interested.
With Thiago Motta poised to take over in Turin, the club are identifying transfer targets and have named Kiwior as a potential transfer.
The North London club will reportedly demand around £15 million for the sale of the 24-year-old, but that is reportedly a fee that Juve believe is ‘excessive’.
